Romorantin-Lanthenay is the capital of the Sologne region and has fabulous buildings within its walls such as the current sub-prefect’s residence which is in the town’s old chÃ¢teau where, in 1499, Claude de France was born. She married the future King of France, FranÃ§ois I, in 1514. On Rue de la Tour, the HÃ´tel de RÃ¨re is an old residence with wooden walls and turrets from the 15th century. La Chancellerie, le Carroir DorÃ© and HÃ´tel St-Pol are three remarkable buildings next to each other on Rue de la RÃ©sistance. Free acces any time.
